Gumstix are not for eating
While reading an article about building a BlueTooth Sniper Rifle I came across something called a “Gumstix” (GS) computer. I found this fascinating. It is a computer, but a tiny one, a really tiny computer (80mm x 20mm x 6.3mm). The GS computer runs embedded Linux (2.6 kernel). You can add features to the the basic GS with expansion boards: USB connectivity, audio controls, BlueTooth, memory, etc.
For just a couple hundred dollars you could build a computer that could fit just about anywhere. Now I just need to think of some reason to buy a Gumstix. Hey Mike, I think we have a summer computer project…
